Is DEF the same as AdBlue?
How is DEF stored and handled properly?
DEF should be stored in a clean, sealed, and temperature-controlled environment, ideally between -11°C (12°F) and 30°C (86°F). It should not be contaminated with dirt, oil, or other chemicals, as this can affect its performance.
What is the shelf life of DEF?
DEF has a shelf life of 12 to 24 months, depending on storage conditions. Exposure to extreme heat can degrade its quality over time.
What happens if DEF runs out in a vehicle?
If a diesel vehicle runs out of DEF, the engine may enter a limp mode with reduced performance, or it may not restart until DEF is refilled. Some vehicles have warning indicators to alert drivers before DEF levels become critically low.
